Responsibilities of the Eldest Son

My small family have four members include my parents, me and my younger sister. I am the eldest son and the first paternal grandson in my family. Few years ago, I realized that my future would be full of responsibilities as other eldest sons in traditional Families. At that time, I was absolutely stressful. Since I attended college, I myself step by step understood it were benefits that make me become a stronger, more mature person, and I have strength to come to the whole new life after leaving the school.

As the eldest son in family, I should be a role model for my younger sister. Whatever I do it is always supervised by my parents. They want to make sure that I did not do wrong things, because it would affect on my sister's behavior. Therefore, my sister consider me as idol. She always follows my advice. She likes to share informations with me. We have a great brotherhood. My parents are happy about it, and I learned how to get along with people.

Being the first paternal grandson in a traditional Family, like my father has been doing, is a heavy responsibility or a great pride. There are a lots of ceremonies in Vietnamese culture, and many of them are Family ceremonies which are held by the first paternal grandson. The most important ceremony of the Family is ancestral ceremony, which all people belong to the great Family line come together and commemorate their ancestor. On this day, my father usually prepares a big supply of food. He has to kowtow (to kneel and pray) for hours in front of Ancestral altar. Currently, I am still young and I know I will do exactly what my father do now. It is could take energy and money but I am proud to be the lead of the Family.

After leaving the school, I will looking for a job which pay me enough to build up my own family and help my parents when they are retire. To looking for a high salary job I must be good at it's field. My family is just middle not rich, but my school fee is not affordable for everyone. Knowing that, I try to study as well as I can. In addition, I applied a part-time job in order to gain more experience before graduate. Although it is cost a lots of efforts, I believe I'm not wasting my time and my parents' money.

When I was younger, being the eldest son is a nightmare with me, but now it gives me some advantages: knowing how to get along with people, responsibilities of the lead in Family, receiving good education and good work experience. Actually I feel tired of being the eldest son, but I did not choose to be the eldest son or the first paternal grandson. I was born to be here. By realizing the fact, I try my best in this situation make my life better in the future.

Important Characteristics of Successful Entrepreneur

When we think about entrepreneurs, we also think about many of them are successful and make a lot of money. Actually, there are just a small amount entrepreneurs success because they have some important characteristics to be successful in business, such as: self-confidence, persistence, and organization. Those characteristics make they become successful entrepreneurs.

An entrepreneur need to be self-confidence. Since he has to speak to many people, like seniors, employees, customers, or governors. If he acts or speaks confusingly, that means he is a weak mental person, and he cannot be appreciated. The entrepreneur wants other people believe him, he must trust himself first.

Persistence is also a requirement of a successful entrepreneur. When doing business, the entrepreneur not always succeed. It's certainly that he had failed and gained more experience. The key to success is he should realize what make he failed and be persistence to continue.

An entrepreneur usually is the lead of a company or an organization, so he should be organized. His daily task is managing many things from bills, orders, transaction papers, cash... If he does things in disorder, he may get critical stress. Making everything in organization is good way not only for doing business but also for everyone stays away from stress.

There a still many specific characteristics of successful entrepreneurs, but self-confidence, persistence, and organization are the most important personalities which successful entrepreneurs should have.

How the Internet Affects on My Life

I'm a student, and I major in Computer Science, so Internet is one thing I must know and use in my everyday life. I started using computer when I was at secondary school, but I even did not know what the Internet is. Now, in college, I learn how to use Internet, and realize how useful the Internet affects on me: It helps me to study better, to communicate with people faster, and to entertain more fun.

The most important reason for me to use the Internet is studying. Here are some ways to study on the Internet: The first is using search engines¹ to look for information. For example, when I got stuck on my lessons at school, I would search for it on Google^TM (the most famous search engine), then my work would be just choosing the best solution. That is the fastest way, it takes even less than one second to provide the list of solutions, and many people prefer it. Another way is joining discussion boards² and asking for help. People often like to help others, but I have to wait longer than searching. It could takes hours or days. In addition, if I want study more than what the school offers, then I will download³ e-books⁴ (electronic book) from the Internet. Sometimes it's free, sometimes not. There are many kind of e-book such as Science, Business, Health, Nature... In my opinion, Internet is the best place for studying.

I'm not only person think that the Internet created a communicating revolution, but also all people who have used the Internet are. Many of my communications are depended on Internet. I like the way of composing and sending e-mails⁵. I just type it by keyboard, click Send, and then my e-mails will arrive the receiver's inbox about five minutes or less. Sometimes, I chat with my friends from other city (or country) through instant messengers⁶. I can seamlessly (visually) contact with them, see them, and speak to them, so it's amazing. On holidays, I usually send e-greeting-cards to my sister, my mother or my friends if I can not visit them. There are many e-greeting-cards websites for free. Thus, Internet created more communicating chances for me to keep in touch with family and friends.

I also use Internet to get entertainment. My favorite is playing games on the Internet. It has a lots of fun. There are two major kinds of Internet games, and I like both, they are: mini games⁷ and multi-player online games⁸. Once studying may make me stressful, and I want to relax, I play mini games. They are usually small, no complicated, just for fun. Another kind of Internet games, multi-player online games is for people like playing together in one game. In this kind, I may play in the same game with other players from other side of the Earth. A decade ago it was imagination, now it's fantastic. Beside playing games, I love to listen to music online. There are thousands of music websites on the Internet. So I can listen to the songs I love and save (store) them in my computer. Internet has provided the most fun entertainment ways I have ever seen.

In contract, Internet has affected deeply on my styles of living, studying, communicating, and enjoyment. It makes me see a closer world than as I thought before, it likes a big house of people around the the world, and I feel I'm a member of it. Now I think most of people agree with me that Internet is an integral (necessary) part in people's daily life.
